Indian handset maker Xolo will launch a sub brand, Black, next month exclusively on the online space in a bid to emulate the success of brands such as Xiaomi, Motorola and Yu from Micromax that retail only online.
Black, which will sport Xolo’s proprietary user interface Hive, will be positioned at a premium to the firm’s Xolo smartphones in the low-to-mid segment. Its Lava brand addresses the entire consumer population with feature phones as well.
