Uninor, Norwegian telecom firm Telenor’s India unit, expects to continue focussing on delivering affordable Internet services, aiming to attract at least half of its subscriber base to its data offerings by 2017.

The telco that has launched the ‘Internet for All’ campaign last year, said that the move from consumption-based pricing to service-based tariffs that allow users to chose packs basis their usage brought a paradigm shift in the market.

“By offering relevant and affordable data services, we aim to have 50% of our users accessing internet by 2017,” Uninor chief product officer Amaresh Kumar told ET, and added that, since they embarked on the new strategy, internet revenue and subscribers base have doubled in 2014.
