Taiwan’s Asia Pacific Telecom is set to become the nation’s fifth operator to launch 4G services, introducing a new unlimited data plan.

The operator yesterday started signing on 4G subscribers, Focus Taiwan said. APT is offering services starting at TW$898 ($28.70) per month for uncapped data usage.

APT plans to officially launch its 4G network on December 24, joining rivals Chunghwa Telecom., Taiwan Mobile, Far Eastone and Taiwan Star Cellular in offering the services.

The operator already operates a CDMA-based 3G network and has around 1.8 million subscribers to the services. Original post at Telecom Asia
