Rcom asks its 2G Customers in West Bengal, Assam and Bihar to Port Out by Dec-12

Reliance Communication has asked its customers in West Bengal, Assam and Bihar circles to port out by 12, december 2015. As RCom’s 900 Mhz spectrum in these three circles will expire on december 12, the company has informed its customers to upgrade to 3G or to port out for continued service.

Since RCom has 3G airwaves in West Bengal, Bihar and Assam, it had urged its 2G customers on November 12 to upgrade to 3G as part of the company’s full-fledged focus on data services in these markets. Under licence conditions, RCom needs to notify the government and customers about 60 days and 30 days in advance respectively regarding its business continuity plans, post-expiry of its 2G airwaves in these circles.
