Nokia Networks has unveiled an ultra-compact LTE network in a box, small enough to be carried and installed by one person, and designed for rapid deployment in disaster areas.

The product promises to provide macro site capacity and coverage to provide real-time, bandwidth communication services in remote areas with no or limited coverage. It can be deployed in a matter of minutes.

Nokia Network in a box is configured to operate on either FDD or TD-LTE bands, supports thousands of individual users and weighs only around 40kg, the company said. It can operate outdoors without an additional cabinet, cooling or shelter. Original post at Telecom Asia
