Indian Government has allocated $1.7 bil for telecom sector as per Union Budget,2016. In an attempt to develop digital infrastructure in rural India, Government will allocate $0.39 bil for projects like National Optic Fibre Network. State-run ITI will get $73.65 mil as financial support for its revival. It will be also allocated additional $11.7 mil as equity support.

BSNL will get $0.32 bil as a refund of 4G and CDMA spectrum that it surrendered, while MTNL will be given $63.04 mil, according to the expenditure Budget for fiscal year 2016-17. Read more
