Flipkart has now started selling swappable back covers for the Moto E, just a week after launching the device in India. The back covers dubbed Moto Shells are available in nine colours – lemon, turquoise, raspberry, violet, chaulk, royal blue, spearmint, cherry and licorice. In fact, the licorice, spearmint and cherry already appear to be out of stock.
Each Moto Shell comes at a steep price of Rs 899, especially considering the device is aimed at entry users and priced at Rs 6,999. However, launch day offer, allows users to buy the cover at 50 percent discount that amounts to approximately Rs 450.
Some user reviews on Flipkart clearly spew out distaste for the pricing. One of the reviews states, “This is insane pricing. How nice if we could buy the mobile without the back cover for 6100 INR. That would be some deal.”
It should be noted that the Moto G cover on Flipkart costs Rs 600, while Moto shell pricing is similar to the Moto G grip cover. Original post at tech.firstpost
