Cellular Operators Association of India Thursday supported the appeal of the academicians to set up Telecom Research and Development Fund (TRDF) and Telecom Entrepreneurship Development Fund (TEDF) to encourage research and entrepreneurship in the Indian Telecom industry.
“COAI is committed to support any such Govt initiatives in building the ecosystem as is done in the past for establishing TCOEs, TSDSI and TSSC,” Rajan S Mathews, Director General, COAI, said in a statement. COAI is the industry lobby body representing GSM operators such as Bharti AirtelBSE 3.26 %, Vodafone, and Idea CellularBSE.
