Chinese smartphone entrants are targeting their top rivals such as Samsung, Micromax and Intex to poach top executives and get an edge on the competitive business.
LeEco, the latest player from China to set up shop in India, hired its chief operating officer, Atul Jain, from Samsung, and has also picked up Anish Kapoor from the Korean giant as its head of mobile phones business. Jain was head of global emerging markets for digital appliances at Samsung, while Kapoor was heading sales of the mobile phone business. LeEco has interests also in connected super-electric cars, video production, content and ecommerce.
Transsion Holdings, which has three brands Tecno, Itel and Infinix hired Intex’s old hand and head of product, Sudhir Kumar, as chief executive of India operations. Intex and Kumar confirmed the movement. Read more
